Disposal stops:

When you flip the switch and nothing happens, there are two things to look for.

 

1-It hums: This indicates it is jammed and can’t turn. Turn it off immediately!

 

2-Nothing happens at all: This means it is dead, shot, worn out etc. Or the unit’s breaker is tripped.

 

Do nothing more until you unplug the unit.

 

For case #1: find the little wrench that came with it and insert in in the middle hole underneath the unit and turn until it is free.

 

For case #2: reset the breaker button on the bottom. Plug it in and try it..
